Tusk: Kevin Smith's Disturbing Transpecies Trailer

If Kevin Smith's new film "Tusk" seems like a page from Dr. Heiter's playbook on creating the unholy "Human Centipede,"   then join the club.  Watching the trailer below, we find Justin Long ("Jeepers Creepers," "Drag Me To Hell") trapped like Jonathon Harker in an old, off the beaten track, lair of someone whose mental stability is of questionable origin. Long, sporting a walrus style mustache, plays wandering Wallace Bryton. He and partner Teddy Craft , played by Haley Joel Osment ("The Sixth Sense," "AI") are podcasters who do a show similar in nature to Art Bell's "Coast to Coast AM."   As Long's Bryton says in the trailer, "I travel around and I interview weird or interesting people."

Traveling to Canada, Bryton meets for an interview with an old sea-dog, Howard Howe.  Howe is played by Michael Parks ("From Dusk Till Dawn", "Kill Bill: Vol. 1", "Kill Bill: Vol. 2", and "Django Unchained")..

"Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut." ~ Ernest Hemingway

The interview devolves as the Wallace's conversation heads down a darker path leading to him being drugged and captured.

Howe begins his with:
"Hello I am an old man who has enjoyed a long and storied life at sea. And after eons of oceanic adventure, I know I do not want to spend my remaining years alone while I have some stories to share."

It seems like Justin Long is in for some cosmetic surgery a la the Antonio Banderas film, "The Skin I Live In."  Be prepared for some disturbing violence, gore, language and sexual content.

Look for "Tusk" on September September 19, 2014
