Man of Steel ~ Nokia Trailer

Man of Steel ~ Banner 003 | A Constantly Racing Mind

I wonder what kind of cell phone that Lois Lane and Clark Kent use in the new "Man of Steel" movie?  Nokia just released this new trailer featuring Russel Crowe's character Jor-El voicing the hope for his son's life on the planet Earth. In Zack Snyder's re-telling of the Superman tale, Superman is seen as an alien, which involves the subtext of immigration, legal or illegal not only in the United States, but also alien to this world altogether.

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, two teenagers during the Great Depression, created what was first a super villain, but then decided that they could sell their idea better if their character was a hero. Their hero, Kal-El came from dying planet Krypton, and due to the differences between Earth's gravity and other factors, he has powers far greater than the humans. Sent to Earth as a child, he is raised by a farmer and his wife and raised as their son, not telling him about his origins. He grows up as as Clark Kent, and one of the main themes that run throughout the original comic books, television shows, and previous film adaptations. Here is what the studio says...

"A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind." ~ Written by Warner Bros. Pictures

Look for the "Man of Steel" in theaters on June 14th in the US.
