Carnival of Life

Carnival of Venice 2010 By Domen Jakus

Enter into the Carnival of Life,
Take a turn at the Wheel of Fortune,
See yourself in the reality of the mirrored room,
Take your time – there’s no need to flee so soon.

And have a good time
‘Cause that’s all your gonna get
Until you’ve crossed the line,
Where the sun has set.

Travel the merry go-round of Destiny,
Ride the Ferris wheel of Fate,
Meet with the clown of Sorrow,
And don’t worry about being late.

Have a ride through the Tunnel of Love,
Walk through the haunted house where the ghosts are real.
See your world from above,
And try to negotiate a new deal.

Ride upon the roller coaster of Misfortune
Do not pass go,
See the dark side of the moon
Where they put on a crazy show.

And just have a good time
‘Cause that’s all you’re gonna get
Until you’ve crossed the line
Where the sun has set.

Step up and play the game of chance
Take a good look at the freaks
With any luck you may advance
If that is what you seek.

Have your fortune read
By the woman in black
Do not listen to what is said
‘Cause your mind is under attack.

Do not go to the ticket booth
And buy that fateful ticket
To the play of the Poison Tooth
The play is just plain wicked.

Hoped you had a good time,
Because you cannot leave
You have passed the line
And you have been deceived.

Now that the sun has set,
Many tunes the Piper played
And it’s to our regret
That the Piper must be paid.

There is no exit from the Carnival of Illusion.
There is no real way
To escape this twisted delusion
Save with your life you pay.

Even then you don’t really leave,
Just exist in another dimension.
Tho your friends are bereaved,
Your soul is in suspension.

Enter into the Carnival of Life
And have a good time
‘Cause that’s all your gonna get
Till you’ve crossed that line
Where the sun has set.
